Set in a minimalist, dystopian world, AFTER LAUGHTER follows a young boy, trapped in isolation, coming to grips with his past — forced to make a decision about his future that will push him to his limits.

AFTER LAUGHTER is an atmospheric live-action adaptation of the graphic novel by the same name, created by French artist, illustrator & director Jonathan Djob Nkondo — directed by Sean Cartwright. Produced by 73films. AFTER LAUGHTER is a heavily art-directed sequel to the indie-animated film ISLAND BOZO [Nkondo, 2016].

The project will be shot on 35mm film. Currently in pre-production — filming will begin in 2024.
